Room Data Sheets and Synchronizing With Revit
Room data sheets are organized outline of the requirements that apply to specific room types. They are usually created during the briefing phase (or architectural programming in the US) of the design process and aid in defining the needs of the client for every type of space. They can be used to create specifications that aid contractors and design teams to understand what is expected of each space and how to make sure that any proposed solution will meet the client’s requirements.
Architects and other members of the design teams, such as engineers and interior designers, create room data sheets. They are a work in development and may be an 'in-progress’ document until a client has given their approval to the final architectural plan. The data in room sheets can then be linked to the Revit model via a process known as backfilling. This method of verification helps to ensure that the room’s data accurately matches the requirements in final documents, and can also highlight the differences.
The Room Data Sheets component of BriefBuilder allows you to easily create room data sheets and use them to sync with the Revit model. It provides a set of standard templates and pre-programmed listlists for the electrical, structural HVAC, plumbing and structural disciplines. It also allows the inclusion of thumbnail size drawings and graphics for each discipline.
The component is simple to use and does not require particular setup. It can load configurations that have been saved, which decreases the time it takes to set up. It permits properties such as scale, browser organization and naming for each page to be data management tutorial set.
